Client: MEDITECH South Africa

Headquartered in Boston, MEDITECH SA is in charge of the African, Middle Eastern and Australasian regions. The business provides integrated software solutions to private and public healthcare facilities.

Discovery:

The MEDITECH SA team had clear goals and objectives in mind before approaching us – an ideal situation. What MEDITECH wanted was a clean, modern and innovative look and feel, to showcase the benefits of its technology. More importantly, however, the exhibition needed to celebrate the company’s longevity and loyalty of their clients.

Brief:

  • Curate, design and produce an exhibition to showcase MEDITECH SA’s services to established and potential clients
  • Design all event-related materials, including lanyards, folders and signage
  • Create document and presentation templates in line with the event branding
  • Create a new website design in-line with MEDITECH SA’s mother company in the USA
  • Foreground the 2012 slogan: “Software for new healthcare”

Challenges

  • A tight deadline – particularly for the production of the exhibition
  • Creating an exhibition with longevity
  • Retaining the branding of the mother company, while making it applicable in the South African context

Tackling the brief:

After the initial brainstorming phase, it was decided to move away from the more linear, traditional way of exhibiting a retrospective. Instead, we opted for 30 scenarios as a more humanistic way to showcase the software: people and accolades that have made the company the success it is today. Just like that, “30 Years, 30 Stories” was born.

Through these emotive stories we could clearly express how MEDITECH’s software makes a positive impact on the daily lives of patients, doctors and healthcare facilities. The format also allowed us to cover a range of clients, needs and products.

The 30 stories were treated in a bold and colourful graphic style, which is in line with MEDITECH branding. Icons were used to show the company’s progressive and innovative approach. Each story was assigned a colour palette to express different features of MEDITECH SA’s service package.

The 30 stories were printed on Perspex at differing sizes to provide emphasis and to create a visual hierarchy within the exhibition. The transparency of the works created a dynamic shadow of the medical icons against the silver grey walls of the MEDITECH SA offices.

We also developed a synapse motif that was used throughout the event branding. The synapse not only has medical connotations, but also reflects MEDITECH SA’s ability to connect with and support a wide network of clients, doctors and patients.

Metallic foil embossed Moleskin journals where given out to delegates to encourage them to create their own stories and participate as partners in the future successes.

The MEDITECH SA website was designed for functionality, with a minimalist layout, paired with eye-catching photographs and graphics.
