Minimalist Nativity Set

Posted by

Since the shops are convinced it is Christmas I thought it was apt to show you Oliver Fabel‘s more minimalist interpretation of the nativity scene. Clean, simple and to the point.

Weirdly grotesque but amazingly inventive masks by Shin Murayama. The artist uses materials like shoes, ring pulls and an assortments of odd things to construct these unusual creative pieces. A portion of the proceeds for each mask goes to Designers Against Aids.

One

Vessel Ideation has created a gadget that combines a kettle and teapot called One. You put the plain vessel onto the stove top. The water is ready when a pattern on the side magically appears. You then put the vessel on a base attachment which prevents any burning of the surfaces. Pretty nifty.

Nintendo Nostalgia

Posted by

Nintendo has more” gadgets, zappers and gizmos than you can shake a joystick at”. I found this cool video made in 1988 about the rising popularity of Nintendo in the late eighties. I love video game nostalgia. Look out for Ron Leingang, he has an awesome mullet.

Fuji Instax Instant Camera

Posted by

For all of you who are crying into your soup about Polaroid’s demise here is a little camera that could possibly cheer you up. The photographs are in a similar format to Polaroid photographs but slightly smaller. The quality of the Fuji photograph is brighter than the washed-out sepia quality of Polaroid photography. But the biggest perk is that Fuji’s film is readily available and still in production. Hopefully this will keep you happy until one of the many plans to resurrect Polaroid happens.
