The classic M7 35mm camera is given a new look with its M7 Edition Hermes. The camera has been given a silver chrome finish in a choice of either orange or etoupe calfskin leather. Leica’s limited edition special includes a Leica SUMMILUX-M 35 mm f/1.4 ASPH wide-angle lens, a matching classic round lens hood, a LEICAVIT M rapid winder and a leather carrying strap, which is packaged in a linen-covered, silk-lined box. Only 100 have been produced with a hefty price tag of $14,250.

Nicework is very proud to showcase recent work from our design dynamo Donovan Pugh. The brief was to create a cover for Dion Chang’s latest book project titled The State We’re In: The 2010 Flux Trend Review. The book brought together a number of influential and informed individuals to address issues and developments in the cultural milieu. The cover used Chang’s iconic profile and incorporated a number of graphic elements into it to encapsulate this forward looking trendspotter. Well done Don!

Twenty years ago today the Berlin Wall fell marking a momentous event in world history.

The Goethe-Institut in Johannesburg plans to commemorate the actions and events that led to the collapse of the wall with a focus on the arts with its potential for awakening socio-political change. ‘Cracking Walls’ hosted by the Goethe-Institut is a series of events, which include a photographic exhibition by Jürgen Schadeberg of the construction of the Berlin Wall in 1961 and a sound installation by the art collective Lorey:Auftrag entitled ‘Archive of Fears’.
