Sony is halting the production of floppy disks in Japan from March 2011. Sony was one of the last company’s manufacturing floppy disks for die-hard fans. Cheerio old dinosaur.

Bicycle Portraits is a super cool project documenting cyclists around South Africa which will ultimately be turned into a book. The creators of the project Stan Engelbrecht and Nic Grobler are currently cycling around the country collecting portraits as they go. Get involved and donate if you can. It looks to be an awesome end product.

Jessica Hische is a designer with a talent for type (go see) but she is a lecturer at the University of Arts in Philadelphia as well. One of the projects she set for her students was to create a book cover design, end plates, title page and book plates for The Wizard of Oz. This is what her students came up with:

Pascal Claude Drach from My Beautiful created the branding and interior design concept for La Corde a Linge, a restaurant and brasserie in France. The CI is dramatic and simple. The interiors show great attention to detail- those uneven drawers are so cool.

The prototype for Apple’s 4th generation iPhone has been leaked. Its thinner but heavier because of the larger battery. Improved features include a front facing camera as well as a back facing camera with a flash, a higher res display and a second microphone for noise cancellation.
