Besiktas Fish Market
.
Besiktas Fish Market is located in a bustling neighbourhood of Istanbul. The original fish market was in a dire state so local residents approached the municipality to revitalize the district. GAD Architects were appointed to create a new design. The outcome was a triangular concrete and steel structure with no internal columns creating a voluminous and uninterrupted internal space. The market has pretty cool lighting too.
9×10
.
These chairs were created by London designers Doshi Levien as part of an exhibition titled 9×10: Swarovski Elements at Work. The exhibition pairs ten designers with nine manufacturers to incorporate Swarovski crystals in whatever they choose to create. Doshi Levien coupled with MOROSO to create a product that was a subtle interpretation of the brief- the upholstered lines in their chairs are embellished with tiny crystals. Fancy.
