Nice Totes

Posted by

Hello, everyone! Welcome to the tote vote.

We at Nicework sometimes like to do things just because they are fun and we like them. The last exciting internal project we worked on was our Nice Notebooks, which we gave to our clients because we love them and they smell nice. You may remember them from our Christmas issue last year.

This time around, we’ve all designed exciting survival tote bags for some fairly standard emergency situations. Trapped in zero gravity? Need to eat your own leg? Now you can carry around a bag of survival must-haves designed especially for your unique problem.

We love each of these so much that we can’t decide which ones to send to production. Which is your favourite? Vote at the bottom of this post. Leave us a comment and you could win your very own Nice Tote!

The Nice Totes are featured in the Go Outside issue of NICE Magazine. Want it? Click here for 100+ pages of awesome outdoor inspiration.

Gerald the Dog

Posted by

We here at Nicework are huge fans of anything remotely doggie-related. (Okay, maybe that’s just me). Either way, have a look at this lovely collaborative papercraft project.

Back in 2009 British design studio Lazerian created a papercraft model kit of their dog mascot, Gerald. Two years later, the studio launched the Gerald Project, a collaborative art project in which they invited more than 100 artists and designers to design custom editions of the papercraft dog. The colorful collection of custom Geralds can now be purchased on Lazerian’s website. They will also be the subject of an art book that will be released at an exhibition of the project, May 17 to 19, 2013 at 60 Reade in New York City.

I am so impressed by the level of creativity and technical skill in these vaguely unsettling mixed-media portraits by French Canadian artist Sandra Chevrier. Have a look at some of her other work!

Bandito Design Co.

Posted by

It’s high time for another e-visit to Ryan Brinkerhoff, aka Bandito Design Co. If we were as cool as him, we would have made all these posters too. But we didn’t, so we’ll just have to look at them for extended periods of time. And maybe cry a little.

I have a giant girl crush on this lady. Is it because she’s talented? French? Draws sassy pinup girls? All of the above? Either way, here she is.
