Slowpoke Cafe

A 12 metre-long wall made out of timber offcuts is the major feature of a small Melbourne coffee shop called Slowpoke Espresso Cafe. The wall was designed by French graphic designer & visual artist Anne-Sophie Poirier, otherwise known as Sasufi. We think its damn cool- go recycling!

Going Gone Gorilla

Ged Palmer and Tom Lane created this life-sized gorilla sculpture for Bristol Zoo’s 175th birthday. Drawing inspiration from the typical butchers diagram, facts about the bush-meat trade in Africa were hand-lettered onto the gorilla. The sculpture was then covered in a heat-sensitive black paint which revealed the information below when touched or hot water was applied. The sculpture received a silver & bronze at the Fresh Digital Awards.

Coca-Cola Goes Green

Coca-Cola has teamed up with the WWF to promote environmental awareness by creating a 60 by 60 foot billboard made from hundreds of Fukien tea plants housed in recycled coke bottles. Each plant can soak up around 13 pounds of carbon dioxide per year, for a combined total of 46,800 pounds.

The “TERRA” Terrarium is designed by Fort Standard. The glass icosahedron is framed in hard maple wood and spins on top of a matching tripod base allowing the viewer to experience the plants from 360 degrees. Vegan Leather Fashion

Suzanne Lee is a fashion designer and director of the Biocouture Research Project. She has developed a way to create a leathery fabric from the cellulose strands created by Kombucha cultures.
