The Beauty of an Ugly Addiction

A series that depicts controversial images of children smoking taken by photographer Frieke Janssens in response to the recent smoking ban in Belgium. By portraying adults as children the viewers attention is drawn to the act of smoking rather than the adult subject in traditional smoking advertising. These images challenge the smoking ban by questioning the effectiveness of the legislation – where adults are essentially treated as children unable to judge right from wrong.

p.s. all the “cigarettes” used were made from cheese
