Innovative packaging
Believe it or not, but this black water is made with pure spring water! The water contains Fulvic Acid which turns the water naturally black . The packaging is so unique, revealing the type printed in black on the bottle.
Packaging tapes are commonly believed to be rather difficult to remove from boxes. But with this bright new idea tape on boxes are now being pushed forward to a new level. Ths tape has a clever utilization of built-in rip cord. So whenever you put on or tear off the tapes, you will find it, well, surprisingly easy!
The moment you pull away the exterior tag from an egg carton, it’s rightly the time to cook the egg, that’s the main idea of this “Gogol Mogol” egg dish concept. The egg carton is made from recycled paperboard and self-cooking, so as to offer the users cooked eggs at almost any time they want.
The sexiest buns we’ve ever seen come from bread manufacturer Kohberg, who released pink-colored and bra-patterned package bags for their rye bread buns. Kohberg has announced to give part of the revenues earned by selling the sexy buns to The Danish Cancer Society, to support the medical research of breast cancer.
Cheese Pencils are interesting packaging design for The Deli Garage’s cheeses. Also come along with them is a grater shaped like a pencil sharpener. As a result, you could easily have the cheese sprinkled onto the dish with the sharpener.
This packaging for pistachio nuts tells a narrative in every detail. The shape and opening mechanism is a reference to pistachios themselves. A crucial part of the thought process was to focus on user experience and second function of the package. The end result is a package where the inside tray holds pistachios but the outer part separates and becomes a tray for the shells – a simple and convenient way to enjoy pistachios instantly. The graphics are no less important for this solution. The main intention was to create graphics that depict the crunchiness of pistachios, that’s where the hand-made type treatment comes in. Also, to think even further about the consumers, all the nutrition facts are shown on the front panel. However, the engraved design makes this essential information visually appealing and even interesting to look at. Read more about Mighty Nuts on Behance
Wikipedia Redefined
Wikipedia has become the accumulated knowledge behemoth of the web 2.0 era.We all love it, use it daily, and couldn’t imagine life without it. But this doesn’t mean that it’s perfect. From a users’ and designers’ perspective, there is in fact much room for improvement. Lithuanian design agency, New, have tackled the mother of all knowledge sites, and given it a much needed make-over. Their solution, Wikipedia Redefined, presents a slick, contemporary looking brand ,which in turn offers a greatly enhanced user experience.
The irony, however, is that despite Wikipedia’s defining motto as “the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit”, this does not extend to include the site’s design and functionality. Pity.
Go and view the entire Wikipedia Redefined project, it’s an incredible example of proactive, forward-thinking design work which actively seeks to solve real problems and make the world a better place, one design at a time.
Fly away great design
Anna Kovecses has designed this super slick experimental identity for American Airlines. I like how she has combined vintage colours and textures with slick contemporary shapes, icons and usabilities; very sexy. What is most impressive is the functionality of the design: how she has stripped the information down to the bare essentials and stacked it in a logical and beautiful way. Just imagine how pleasurable the experience of flying would be with great design like this!

Always Read The Manual
The Manual is a printed and hand crafted journal that takes a fresh look at web design.
“The idea was to play on web design being a relatively young discipline, by creating an identity for the journal that felt older than its time, with references to heraldry, freemasonry, and old book illustrations (among other things).”
The first journal features illustrations by Raymond Biesinger, Olimpia Zagnoli, Christopher Gray, Jessica Hische, Owen Gatley, Ping Zhu and Superbrothers. It will be published three times a year.

The iPad has changed the landscape forever
What an amazing thing this is. The way we interact with tech has changed forever. There is no tactile feedback in the typing, which is something that needs to be addressed. We have not spent decades addressing the ergonomics of things for them to be dumped completely. There is a distinct chance that I will be throwing my laptop in the sea in the coming months. As hard as I try to resist the Apple wave, this is the hardest product of theirs yet.
Instagram: The Numbers
Mashable did an interesting article on the success of the iPhone camera app Instagram. The application combines social networking with photography so well that in the eight short months since its release Instagram now has millions of users.
Let’s get to the current stats:
Total users: +5 million
Total photographs uploaded: +95 million
Average number of photographs posted per day: 860 000
That is pretty darn impressive. Instagram’s early success can be partly attributed to a very popular API that’s now being accessed by more than 2,500 applications.
