Alexa Meade is an artist that specialises in painting, but does not like canvas. She paints directly onto the subjects of her pieces in a sort of “reverse trompe l’oeil”, which she then photographs or installs as living sculptures. It infuses the work with an unexpected realism that transcends her impressionist inspired technique.
