For the love of sitting

Posted by

Most of us spend the majority of our lives sitting down, so we may as well do it in style. Here are some exceptionally swanky seating designs…

The Omega Chair by Hironao Tsuboi

A precisely crafted chair with gossamer proportions and seamless design. The entire piece is elaborately made using traditional Japanese techniques, where each section is carefully sculpting  by hand.

Jesus Gasca’s Laclasica Chair

A stackable wooden chair that mimics the curves and shape of the human body, conveying sensuality by fusing the seat pan and back rest to the legs to create a fluid form.

The Rayuela Stool from Alvaro Catalan

The most efficient form, offering the greatest possibilities, is the rhombus. Three of them make a hexagon which is the best way to cover a surface. Using three colors you get a fascinating optical effect. Putting together these two principles we obtain the idea for this product.

The X-Federation Chair by Victor Vetterlein

Composed of laminated wood combined with carbon fiber fabric, a material strengthening technique used in boat building and further developed in the skateboard industry, allows for the  x-shaped frame and razor-thin legs.
