South Africa Gets New Bank Notes

The South African Reserve Bank commissioned The Jupiter Drawing Room to create a TVC to introduce South Africa’s new banknotes. Talented local creative company Am I Collective created artwork for the project.

“The concept is moments of Nelson Mandela’s life etched onto paper. Each etch represents a key moment in Madiba’s life. The illustrations was done to interpret these scenes based on the new bank notes.”

The front of the banknotes will feature an image of South Africa’s first democratically elected president Nelson Mandela, while the back of the notes have maintained the “Big Five” animal images that appear on current banknotes. They will come into circulation before the end of the year. To see the new banknotes click here.
